It occurs to me that I have never done a meme, and I'm not entirely sure how one goes about picking one. Is there a place for it? If I see a shiny one in someone else's journal, do I just nab it? Do I need to be challenged to do it?

Also, does one just go ahead once one has acquired one, or is it considered polite to mention that one's doing one on whichever place one first saw it?
